Introduction to Cloud Computing
Cloud Computing
is the use of hardware and software to deliver a service over a network (typically the Internet). With cloud computing, users can access files and use applications from any device that can access the Internet.

Introduction to Amazon Web Service (AWS)
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is a secure cloud services platform, offering compute power, database storage, content delivery and other functionality to help businesses scale and grow. Using managed databases like MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle or SQL Server to store information.

Elastic Compute Cloud Instance
An EC2 instance is a virtual server in Amazon's Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) for running applications on the Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure. AWS is a comprehensive, evolving cloud computing platform; EC2 is a service that allows business subscribers to run application programs in the computing environment.

Amazon Elastic Book Store (EBS)
Amazon Elastic Block Store (EBS) is a block storage system used to store persistent data. Amazon EBS is suitable for EC2 instances by providing highly available block level storage volumes.

LOAD BALANCING and Auto Scaling
Auto Scaling launches or terminates instances based on the scaling policies that you create. Elastic Load Balancing automatically distributes incoming traffic across multiple EC2 instances.

Cloud Network and Security
Cloud network security is challenged by the continued presence of the on-premise network. In today’s environment, security policy must be managed comprehensively across the hybrid network that comes about as a result of the connection between the on-premise data center and the cloud estate that now hosts a growing number of applications.

Elastic Beanstalk, Amazon Virtual Private Cloud (VPC)
Amazon Virtual Private Cloud (Amazon VPC) is the networking service that routes traffic securely to the EC2 instances that run your application in Elastic Beanstalk. If you don't configure a VPC when you launch your environment, Elastic Beanstalk uses the default VPC.

Amazon Route 53
Amazon Route 53 is a highly available and scalable cloud Domain Name System (DNS) web service. ... Using Amazon Route 53 Traffic Flow's simple visual editor, you can easily manage how your end-users are routed to your application's endpoints—whether in a single AWS region or distributed around the globe.

Security and Identity Services, IAM
An acronym for Identity and Access Management, IAM refers to a framework of policies and technologies for ensuring that the proper people in an enterprise have the appropriate access to technology resources. Also called identity management (IdM), IAM systems fall under the overarching umbrella of IT security.

Storage and Content Delivery Services, Amazon S3 and Amazon Glacier
Amazon S3 Glacier is an extremely low-cost storage service that provides secure and durable storage for data archiving and backup. In order to keep costs low, Amazon S3 Glacier is optimized for data that is infrequently accessed and for which retrieval times of several hours are suitable.

Database Services (RDS, NoSQL Service)
Database as a service (DBaaS) is a cloud computing service model that provides users with some form of access to a database without the need for setting up physical hardware, installing software or configuring for performance.

Management Tools (Amazon Cloud watch, Cloud Formation)
A cloud management platform is a suite of integrated software tools that an enterprise can use to monitor and control cloud computing resources. ... In general, cloud management refers to the exercise of administrative control over public, private, hybrid and multi-cloud deployments.

Application Services (SES, SQS, SNS)
Amazon Simple Queue Service (SQS) and Amazon SNS are both messaging services within AWS, which provide different benefits for developers. Amazon SNS allows applications to send time-critical messages to multiple subscribers through a “push” mechanism, eliminating the need to periodically check or “poll” for updates.
