Transmission Protocols
An Internet Protocol camera, or IP camera, is a type of digital video camera that receives control data and sends image data via the Internet. They are commonly used for surveillance. Unlike analog closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras, they require no local recording device, but only a local area network.


Analogue And Digital Video Recording
Analogue CCTV cameras record images to a digital recorder which converts the video to a digital format. To view the video, the DVR needs to be connected to a monitor or router to be broadcast through an internal network for remote access. However, there are government regulations for the strength of analogue signals.


Installation Practices
CCTV cameras have special installation requirements that range from legal restrictions to specific provisions regarding power supply and data cabling.


IP Technology
IP surveillance is a digitized and networked version of closed-circuit television (CCTV). In an IP surveillance system, an IP camera records video footage and the resulting content is distributed over an IP (Internet protocol) network
